I took a scene from one of Frank Miller's graphic novels and erased the dialogue and replaced it with some of my own, to illustrate part of Frank Miller's career. The image is as follows:

Alan Moore Film Research

Me and Ash then looked at the imdb website to get some information on the film adaptions on alan moore's graphic novels. From there, we were able to watch some of the film trailers and looked at some reviews of the films. We learnt that Alan Moore hated the film adaptions and therefore refused to be credited with the making of the films. The films that we looked at were: V For Vendetta, Watchmen, The League of Extroadanairy Gentlemen and From Hell. This helped us to understand how his work differed from the graphic novels and the film adaptions.

I worked in a pair with Ash and we researched into a media practitioner who worked in more than one creative field. We were given Alan Moore and had to prepare a presentation. The first place we looked was on the wikipedia page and learnt some of Alan Moore's background information. We learnt that several of his graphic novels had been adapted into feature length films and that he was also in a band. His graphic novels that had been adapted into films were: V For Vendetta, The League Of Extroadanairy Gentlemen and Watchmen. Media Practitioners Part 4

Simon Pegg is most famous for co-writing and acting in the films: Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and Run Fatboy Run. He also appeared in the Channel 4 Series of Spaced.

Alexander Ludwig is famous for playing the lead in The Dark Is Rising in 2007 and co-starring in the Disney film: Race To Witch Mountain in April 2009.

From this, I was able to determine what two media practitioners I wanted to base my research on. The practitioners who worked in more than one creative field that appealed to me the most were, Garth Jennings and John Barrowman.

Media Practitioners Part 3

Garth Jennings directed the big screen version of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, and also wrote and directed Son Of Rambow. He began his career by making TV Commercials and music videos.

John Barrowman is a TV presenter, actor, theatre actor and also a solo
singer. He is most famous for his role as Captain Jack in Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Media Practitioners Part 2

Josh Franceschi is the lead singer in the band: You Me At Six. Hayley Williams is the lead singer in the band: Paramore.

Liam Mower took on the role of Billy in the West End version of Billy Elliot in 200.He played the role for a year and a half. He has also appeared in the TV show: Wire In The Blood. See image:

Media Practitioners Part 1

I made a list of all media practitioners, all of whom appealed to me. This list consisted of Ewan McGregor, David Tennant, Josh Franceschi, Hayley Williams, Liam Mower, Garth Jennings, John Barrowman, Simon Pegg and Alexander Ludwig.

Ewan McGregor is an actor who is most famous for his roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the latest Star Wars films. His latest film is The Men Who Stare At Goats. He also appeared in the TV Documentary: The Long Way Round. He is also a voice-actor and has provided the voice in the film: Robots.

Original Practitioner Research

Russell T Davies
When this project was first set, I wanted to use Russell T Davies as my media practitioner. He is a writer and producer. He is famous for reviving the Doctor Who Series. He also created spin-off shows Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

He also created and written the shows Queer As Folk, Casanova and Bob and Rose. I decided not to use him as my chosen practitioner as he only works in one creative field instead of two or more.
